Busy, busy , busy... All work and no play can't be done for all the days.

I have been absent from my daily writings as one can see. In the topsy-turvy world of The Urban Monk things can get a bit hectic. My days have been busy and my nights tiring.

I have completed 12 works of art. Ten smaller abstracts 16" x 20" and 2 larger works one of which contains solar lights (shhh.... But don't tell anyone). It's a secret. My self taught lessons of Manderin are going along nicely. I am definitely digging this Pimsleur program I am trying. It's not too difficult and I only have to designate 30 minutes a day. Which I have been pretty good about doing.

I am currently working on 4 new pieces with experimental techniques, but then again when am I not? Let's just say one includes solar lights and I think I am beginning to get the hang of it to maximize all of the LED light. I am super excited about the results. It's not too ambitious. All I am merely trying to do is recreate outer reaches of the gallery in an abstracted realism sort of quality. I don't think that is too much to ask.

In news updates, I recently received a letter that I might be getting a subpeona to be a witness for a 23 person grand jury indictment. It's a long story... Let's just say it involves my longtime friend, yours truly, armed robbery, 2 little highschool punks, a replica Airsoft AK-47, and my stolen bag of McDonalds. Kids these days have no respect for a man's food.

Also, I will not be making a cross country trip to California. However, I will be spending a few weeks in Chicago doing lawn work for my brother? Yep, it sounds as randoms as it is, but it's cool. I like working outside.

I am also thinking about starting a possible novel. If so, I might be introducing exerpts onto my blog. As it will be a work-in-progress I ask that people be gentle as to critiquing my work. Since after all I am not a writer, but an artist.

Currently, I am dog sitting my favorite boxer Champy. He's got a heart big as Texas. He reminds me of one of those Adat walkers from Star Wars.

Still teaching the children of Central Ohio Art Academy, or rather assisting my mentor Donna Boiman. They haven't got sick of me yet. Plus, they tend to be more inspiring than most the people I went to art school with in Savannah, Georgia. They are smarter too that's for sure.

Well, that's the happenings for now. That catches everyone up on the gist of things. Back to business as usual. Keep on keeping on...
